Singapore – Filipinos in Singapore now have access to a wider selection of books celebrating Philippine history and culture. First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos has donated more than 50 Filipiniana publications to the Sentro Rizal Library at the Philippine Embassy, giving the community a richer place to learn about their roots.
According to a statement posted on the Philippine Embassy in Singapore’s official website, the donation covers books on Philippine history, culture, and a selection of children’s literature. The gift builds on a milestone from earlier this year, when the First Lady inaugurated the Sentro Rizal Library during her visit to Singapore on July 16, 2026.
What’s in the Collection
The new books join an already growing library that reflects the depth of Filipino heritage. Readers visiting the Sentro Rizal Library can explore titles covering:
- Works on Dr. Jose Rizal, including facsimile editions of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo
- Philippine history, visual arts, and cultural heritage
- Reference books on Philippine National Artists
- Biographies of well-known Filipinos
- Culinary traditions, tourism, and Singapore-related resources
