Foreign Worker Brought to Hospital after getting Involved in a Minibus Accident

Much of what goes on in everyday life goes beyond our control, but the ones that are, could also go either way depending on our judgment and motives.

But the important thing in everything we do (and this hopefully goes for everyone else, as well) is that we exercise caution and take into consideration other people’s safety and our own so as not to get into situations that could get us in a difficult spot.

Foreign Worker Hit by Minibus Rushed to Hospital, Driver Arrested

A 46-year old foreign national was rushed to the hospital after getting hit by a minibus on Monday morning (Feb 18), as shared in a report by the Straits Times.

The police were notified of the incident along Mandai Road towards Woodlands Road around 8:52 in the morning.

The man who had gotten hit was conscious when he was brought to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

The male driver was arrested for driving a vehicle without the owner’s knowledge and permission. The police also discovered that the accused was without a valid driving license on him.

A photo sent by an eyewitness to Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News revealed that the victim is a foreign worker because of the company uniform that he was wearing. According to reports, the man was seen walking back and forth across the road shortly before the accident.

According to the report by Shin Min, the minibus driver was confirmed to be a Chinese man who is connected to the owner of the minibus.  However, the driver did not have the owner’s consent to drive the bus when it got into an accident last Monday.

When driving, other than being mindful of what’s happening on the road, it’s very important to have your license with you and any authorization for you to drive a vehicle, especially when you’re an expat working in another country.
