Sentosa will Offer Free Entry during September School Holidays

With the school break looming in starting next month, families are now thinking of where to go for a fun and easy getaway locally or internationally to take advantage of the downtime from school starting next month. Good news for those who would like to spend some time off with family or friends over the upcoming September school holidays as the Sentosa Development Corporation announced last Friday (Aug. 24) that it will waive admission fees for all Singapore residents who will visit the island during the school vacation period.

Furthermore, those who will be driving Singapore-registered vehicles to Sentosa and those who will enter the island via the Sentosa Express trains will be given free admission from September 1 – 16, as shared in a report by Channel News Asia.

Free Entrance to Sentosa over September School Holidays

According to island officials, Sentosa will continue to offer its current free modes of entry for those who walk or take the SBS Transit’s shuttle service 123 into the island.

The decision to waive island admission fees is part of the goal of Sentosa to help visitors celebrate the school holidays. In line with this, Sentosa will be the host venue of Southeast Asia’s largest sand festival: Sentosa Sandsation: Marvel Edition.

With an area of about 3,000  sqm at Siloso beach, the sand exhibit will feature 15 fantastic sand sculptures of famous Marvel superheroes such as Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor.

Other than the upcoming school holiday event, there are tons of other fun things to do and attractions to see in the island of Sentosa. Surely, it’s going to be a great opportunity for families and friends to unwind and have memorable bonding experiences in one of Singapore’s most popular tourist destination islands.

And it’s not just about Sentosa, as there are far many activities you can do in Singapore, even with the kids in tow.
