The Land Transport Authority (LTA) had announced last Tuesday (Aug. 21) that several roads surrounding the Marina Centre complex will be closed next month for about a week to make way for the Formula One Singapore Airlines Grand Prix 2018, as shared in a news report by Channel News Asia.
The scheduled road closure will start on Sept. 12 at 12:01 am to allow for the set-up of race infrastructure, and affected roads will be reopened by Sept. 18 at 5:30 am.

The LTA added that this year, more roads will be gradually be reopened earlier to allow for better traffic access in the city.
During the scheduled road closures, alternate road channels will be open at certain hours:
Those who will be driving (not including buses and vehicles with W, X, Y plates) can pass through the Marina Centre via single lane along Raffles Boulevard using Nicoll Highway during these times:
September 12-14: 10 am-10 pm, and 10 pm-6 am
September 15 & 16: Midnight until 1 pm
September 17: Midnight to 6 am, 10 am-5 pm, 10 pm-6 am
The LTA also shared that taxis can use the single-lane access at all times, except for race days.
Motorists are allowed to enter the Marina Centre complex via Temasek Boulevard using Rochor Road (after exiting ECP) for the entire day.
Traffic enforcers will be patrolling the area to direct the course of traffic and to assist the public, while directional signage will also be set up in the area for convenience.
Car parks at malls which include Marina Square, Millenia Singapore, and SunTec City will remain available during this period.
MRT Services Extended
In line with the traffic adjustments, the MRT train operating hours will also be lengthened during race days (September 14 &15), while selected feeder buses will also be extended to coincide with the last train rides.
On September 14 & 15, train services will be available at City Hall Station until 12:30 am.
On September 16, train services at the station will be available until 12:45 am.
During this period, free shuttle bus rides between Lavender Station and Gate 1 of the race site are available.
