Kick-start the F1 Singapore 2018 Season with these International Acts

The F1 Singapore 2018 Grand Prix season is almost upon us, and if you’re still thinking about getting your tickets to the show, we’ve got some insider tips on who will be the top artists to crash the main stage for the event. Hint: it’s going to be an internationally-flavoured show this year as top names in the global music scene such as American rock band the Killers joined by Dutch producer Martin Garrix, British pop sensation Dua Lipa, and Taiwanese heartthrob superstar Jay Chou have all made the short list for this year’s show. Who to Watch out for in the F1 Singapore 2018

Day 1:

Adding hype to the opening weekend of the Grand Prix is Taiwanese pop icon Jay Chou who will be performing material from his most recent album, Jay Chou’s Bedtime Stories which include his big hit ‘Love Confession’ at the Padang Stage (Zone 4). All set to share the stage with Jay is local jazz vocalist Joanna Dong.

Other notable acts to catch on Day 1 include poet and singer-songwriter Sampa the Great’s performance at Downtown stage (Zone 4). Also, home-grown rap artist, The Lion City Boy will showcase his wares at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre (Zone 4), dishing out his rap and hip-hop skills and a little bit of funny antics.

Racing aficionados will be treated to some classic performances by the Killers at the Padang Stage (Zone 4) on Saturday, with performances of iconic songs such as ‘Mr. Brightside’, ‘Somebody Told Me’, and ‘Run for Cover’.

Bringing the stuff that made his 2017 solo album debut hit #1 in the UK, former Oasis front man Liam Gallagher will rock the Padang Stage (Zone 4) on Day 2 of the race weekend.

Best known as DJ and turntablist for Linkin Park, Joe Hahn is also slated to serve up his solo debut work in front of a huge racing crowd on the same day in Singapore.

Proving to be more than just another pretty face in the music industry, Dua Lipa has come a long way from when she started out back in 2009. The 23-year old British pop sensation is now a certified hit—maker for her #1 hits such as ‘Be the One’ and ‘New Rules’. Catch her sizzling hot stage at the Padang stage (Zone 4) on Day 3 of the F1 2018Grand Prix.

Another name on the list is no stranger to the UK hit charts and in the global stage. Simply Red has over 31 Top 40 UK singles and has earned multiple awards, and has performed over 1,100 international shows to over 11 million fans worldwide. Catch them as they perform some of their massive hits such as ‘If You Know Me by Now’ and ‘Stars’ at the Village stage (Zone 1).

And finally, who doesn’t know Martin Garrix’s addictive tunes such as ‘Animals’ and ‘Scared to be Lonely’? Get ready to catch the man live on stage, and party the night away to some of Garrix’s party club chart-toppers at the Padang stage (Zone 4) on the last day of the race weekend.

And while we have listed just a few of the biggest names in the international music scene today, there is no shortage of high-quality talent as hip-hop groups The Sugarhill Gang and Young Fathers, iconic Abba tribute band Björn Again, as well as rising J-rock band End of the World (Sekai no Owari) are all set to light up the F1 stage across multiple nights at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2018.

Although a long list of internationally-acclaimed artists are expected to amp up the F1 stage, there are also a couple local heavyweights such as Sing! China’s Joanna Dong, singer-songwriter Abby Simone together with her band MMLD, ‘vintage’ artiste Miss Lou, indie-rock band Mildlife, as well as Duo Picks tapped to feature Singapore’s local music scene on this big racing event of the year.
