Summer is all about refreshing combinations and exciting events. Apparently, global franchise KFC has come up with a new treat for their Singaporean market in the form of the sweet and salty chocolate hazelnut fries, which consumers make reference to the savoury McGriddles of the brand’s major competitor, McDonald’s.
The chocolate items developed by KFC are concurrently launched with the salted egg Goldspice chicken, in commemoration of the upcoming National Day starting July 4.

In pictures circulating the net, the item looks exactly just like its name: fries drizzled with some chocolate hazelnut sauce as toppings.
The chocolate fries costs S$4.20 a la carte, or can be bought as a meal add-on for S$2.90. However, the item can only be bought in select locations only, and will be available only until supplies last.
Here are the ten (10) KFC outlets which offer the promotional item:
- Causeway Point
- Lot 1 Shopper’s Mall
- Compass One
- Jurong Point
- Kallang Stadium
- Nex
- Sun Plaza
- Tampines CPF
- Tampines Hub
- Waterway Point
In addition to the sweet and savoury chocolate hazelnut fries, the global chicken franchise will be offering chocolate hazelnut tarts as well at S$1.50 per piece to complete the indulgent National Day commemorative menu.
The familiar flavours of the Goldspice chicken (SS8.55 for a two-piece meal), which is reminiscent of the brand’s signature Hot and Crispy variant and is further amped up with the added kick of salted egg seasoning, curry leaves, chili, and sweet basil powder; and the delectable sweet and savoury goodness of the Chocolate Fries and Chocolate Hazelnut Tart, will be the champion of the crowd in time for what is considered as one of Singapore’s major celebrations, the National Day.
And while this comes as a refreshing surprise for fans of the fried chicken franchise, this has not been the first time when the sweet and salty combination of chocolate fries has been introduced in the market. McDonald’s Japan also had the same concept back in 2016.
The promotional item/s will be available until August 9 only.
