Philippines – Police officers arrested a 32-year-old Filipino man wanted for syndicated estafa moments after he landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City. The arrest happened on September 27, 2026, as the suspect stepped into the International Arrival Area following a flight from Singapore.
According to a statement from the PNP Aviation Security Group (PNP AVSEGROUP), the takedown was the result of a coordinated effort between several police units and airport authorities who had been tracking the man’s return to the country.
How the Operation Came Together
The arrest was carried out by a joint team that included the Regional Intelligence Division and the Regional Special Operations Group 3 (RID, RSOG3), working alongside PNP AVSEGROUP officers stationed at NAIA Police Station 3.
The team acted on a Warrant of Arrest issued on September 10, 2026, by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 57, in Angeles City, Pampanga. Notably, the warrant carried no recommended bail, meaning the accused cannot post bond for temporary liberty.
Before the arrest, officers reached out to the airline to confirm the suspect’s travel details. That coordination verified he was booked on the incoming flight from Singapore, allowing the team to prepare for his arrival.
What Happened at the Airport
When the suspect landed, the joint team was already in position. Officers moved in at the International Arrival Area and carried out the arrest without incident.
The key steps during the operation included:
- Formally placing the accused under arrest
- Informing him of the reason for his apprehension
- Reading him his constitutional rights
- Using an Alternative Recording Device to document the process
These measures help protect both the suspect’s rights and the integrity of the case as it moves forward.
Suspect Now in Police Custody
The accused is currently being held by RID, RSOG3 for processing and further legal action. Authorities will handle documentation before turning him over for proper disposition.
