Fun Activities You and Your Fur Kid Can Enjoy at Pet Expo 2018
Pet Expo is Singapore’s the largest pet event to date. Now on its fifth year, expect a wider range of fun and educational activities suited for owners and pets of all ages.
1. Let your pet do the walking… on the runway! – (Apr 6, 3:15 pm – 4 pm)
The ArtsyFartsy Pawgeant Show
Stage Area, Singapore Expo Hall 7
If you and your pet share a knack for dressing up to impress, then the ArtsyFartsy Pawgeant Show could be your golden ticket to fashion stardom – well, at least for a day. Dress up your fur baby with the most audacious outfit, and wow the crowd with that feisty walk down the runway, should your entry be selected for the big day. It’s a contest you don’t want to miss if you’re collecting big milestones for your fur baby in his/her (photo album) collection.
To join the contest:
- Take a picture of your pet wearing the most creative and trendy ensemble, and upload it on Instagram.
- Follow and tag @petexposg to your entry photo.
- Use the hashtag #petexposg2018 and caption the photo with: ‘Vote us! To see us in the Final on April 6!’
- Submit your contest entry by March 31 and wait for a notification if you get shortlisted.
2. A Healthy Pet is a Happy Pet! – (April 6, 5:30pm – 6pm)
Pet Healthcare by Animal Ark
Stage Area, Singapore Expo Hall 7
More than looking chic or pretty, having a shiny fur coat and strong white teeth are good indicators of your pet’s health so there’s good reason to get them regular annual health check-ups and to invest on good healthcare products to help your pet live a healthy and happy life. These are things that we all need to learn at health lecture to be provided by Dr Jansen Ng of Animal Ark.
Also, if you love squishy and cuddly things, you have to know at least what kind of squishy and cuddly is within the considered healthy category for your fur child. And you can have that kind of talk with a qualified vet for free at the Weight Management for Pets seminar on April 7 from 2:15 – 2:45 pm.
3. Get front row seats to a Pet Fashion Runway Show – (Apr 7, 4:30 pm – 5:15 pm)
“Good Dogs & People” Fashion Runway by Good Dog People
Stage Area, Singapore Expo Hall 7
If you and your pet are more of the observer types, then find a nice seat in the audience and watch other fashion-forward pets take their spot in the spotlight as they steal the runway show organized by none other than Singapore’s fashion royalty Daniel Boey along with other influencers in the fashion scene such as designers Carrie K. and Thomas Wee. If anything, expect that you won’t be disappointed.
4. Support Pet Charities through an Art Auction – (Apr 6-8)
Come and show support for your favourite local pet charities by joining the auction of exquisite art pieces by fellow supporters of the cause, artistes Vanessa Vanderstraaten and Paul Foster. All proceeds of the event will be given to several animal welfare organizations including the Cat Welfare Society, the Animal Lovers League, and SOSD.
5. Stretch to Wellness with Your Pet – (Apr 6, 12:30 – 1:20 pm; and Apr 7, 11:15 am – 12pm)
Pawfully Fit Dog Yoga
Stage Area, Singapore Expo Hall 7
If you’re all about gaining new shared experiences with your fur kid, then why don’t you join this one-of-a-kind yoga class with expert yogi Neha Wasan? It’s the perfect bonding experience for you and your dog. Feel free to bend over each other, hold paws together, balance on each other’s weight, and share unique poses much to the delight of your body and mind. It’s open to hoomans and pets of all sizes. Just be sure to bring your yoga mats for you and your fur kid.
