The passport is a very important government document that should always be kept safe and secure by its owner. This is used for travel purpose and if you lose it, you will need to get a new passport ASAP, or else you will not be able to travel (back home or to any other country).
Filipinos in Singapore who might lose or damage their Philippine passport, here are some guidelines on how to replace it at our Philippine embassy.
Guidelines for Replacing Lost Passport or Damaged Passport
First, you need to set an appointment with the Philippine embassy through email at epassport.sgpe@gmail.com. Put in the title of the message the reason for your passport replacement. It can either be “Lost Passport” or “Damaged Passport”. Also include in your email your preferred date and time and the embassy will confirm if the preferred slot is available.
Second, once date of the embassy set has come, kindly bring the following below then register your details at the Reception Desk and go to Window #8.
For Damaged Passport:
- Printout of the email exchanges between you and the embassy.
- Filled-out Application Form. You can Download Here for the form or request a copy from the embassy.
- Affidavit of Loss or Damage. You can Download Here or request one from a copy from the embassy.
- Fees: Passport Replacement and Notarization Fees – For the list of fees, check this page.
For Lost Passport:
Aside from the details listed above, you have to also bring additional documents below:
- Police report of the lost passport.
- Special Immigration Pass from the Singapore ICA – Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.
- A Copy of the visa issued by the SG authorities.
- A Copy of the lost passport’s data page or your NSO birth certificate.
Note: Please take note you need to bring additional documents depending on the visa or pass issued to you.
Ø Work Permit Holders – secure an updated valid employment contract which is also authenticated by our Philippine Embassy. If you have no contract, replacement of your passport needs to be processed by an accredited agency of the embassy.
Ø Dependant’s Pass or Employment Pass – bring the dependant’s pass card or the present the employment pass.
Ø Social Visit Pass– present the social visit pass issued by Singapore (ICA) – Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.
Ø Singapore Permanent Residents – present the blue Singapore Identity Card (IC).
And finally, you may need to wait a little longer to apply for a new passport to change the lost or damaged one. According to the rules and regulations of DFA, there is a clearance period before you can start applying for a new passport. The waiting period may be longer than the regular renewal of passport.
